Chats

Chats on the iqpi.io platform — the site’s shared Main chat: a side panel with a common message feed. There is no separate “chat list” page and no way to create your own public channel.

Below — where to open Main chat, how to write and translate messages, how it differs from Messenger and club chat, and which chats appear in a room and match.

Related topics: Messenger, Clubs, Notifications, Registration and authorization, Multilingual.

In the menu, Messenger opens private messages, not Main chat (UI label — Messenger).

Where to open Main chat

There is no separate /chats URL. Open the chat button (floating button) — a side panel titled Main chat appears.

The panel is available on many public site pages (home, tournaments, leaders, club catalog, game pages, and legal pages) and in the account (account home, profile, history, affiliate, My tournaments, notifications, etc.).

On a club page /clubs/{slug}, Club chat is shown instead of Main chat — Clubs.

In a match room and a Swedish (Bughouse) match the panel switches to room chat / match chat (see below).

In the panel you can choose the side (Chat on the left / Chat on the right) and change width (Change chat width).

How to read and write

  1. Open the chat button → Main chat panel.
  2. Guests and signed-in users can read.
  3. Writing — only after sign-in. Otherwise: “Sign in to write in chat” and Authorization button → Registration and authorization.
  4. Enter text in the Message... field (emoji if needed — Emoji) and send.

Limits:

RuleValue
Message lengthup to 300 characters
Feed historyup to 200 latest messages
Send rateno more than 1 message every 2 seconds (“You cannot send messages more than once every 2 seconds”)

If the account is banned from sending: “You are not allowed to write in chat”.

The panel header shows presence and typing counters.

A user does not create or “join” Main chat like a club: the feed is shared by everyone. Closing the panel does not permanently revoke access.

Chat translation language

In panel settings: Chat translation language.

  • you can choose a language for translating messages (list in the interface: Russian, English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Português, and others from the chat menu);
  • Site language — translation follows the site UI language (Multilingual).

The message text in the feed is translated; panel button labels follow the site language separately.

Main chat moderation

Only appointed platform moderators can delete others’ messages and block sending in Main (and room) chat — not any user.

Moderator actions (message menu):

  • Delete this message;
  • Delete all from user;
  • Block for 24 hours.

On temporary block: “Message sending is blocked for 24 hours”.

Main chat has no user “mute counterpart” or peer block — those are Messenger features.

Chats in games and tournaments

Same panel mechanics, different channel:

ContextUI labelWho can write
Match roomRoom chatRoom participants (in some bot / solo modes chat may be off — see game articles)
Swedish (Bughouse) matchMatch chatMatch participants; “Chat is available only to match participants”; writing may require taking a slot
TournamentPlayers chatOn the tournament page; moderation by the organizer

Game details: Chess, Swedish, Tetris, Tetris: Attack.

Main — shared feed. Messenger — 1:1 conversations and related tabs on /lk/notifications.

Where is club chat?

On the club page — Clubs.

Why can’t I send a message?

No. User public channels are not created. Club chat appears with a club; DMs — in Messenger.
