Multilingual on the iqpi.io platform means the site interface language, a separate chat translation language, and automatic translation of user content (profile, clubs, tournaments, posts).
Below — which languages are available, where to switch them, and how auto-translation of texts works.
Related topics: Profile, Chats, Messenger, Clubs, Creating a tournament, Registration and sign-in.
Two independent choices
| What | Where to switch | What it affects |
|---|---|---|
| Interface language | Flag / select in the site and account header | Button labels, menus, system UI texts |
| Chat translation language | Flag in the chat header (“Chat translation language”) | How other people’s messages appear in chats |
Site language and chat translation language do not have to match.
Site interface language
In the header 6 languages are available:
| Code | Name in the select |
|---|---|
| en | English |
| ru | Русский |
| es | Español |
| fr | Français |
| de | Deutsch |
| pt | Português |
Where to view and change
- Flag switcher in the header (public site and personal account).
- In profile settings there is no language — see Profile.
After sign-in the chosen language is saved in the account and used in the cabinet and related flows (including notifications by the user’s locale).
On the public site (front), languages other than English have a URL prefix (/ru/…, /es/…, etc.; English — no prefix). In the account (lk) there is no locale prefix in the URL — language is set by the switcher.
Legal pages
Legal documents (license agreement, privacy policy, and related consents) are translated into the site interface languages according to the selected locale.
On those pages there is a note: only the Russian text has legal force; translations into other languages are informational.
Chat translation language
In chats, messages can be shown in the selected translation language. The setting is called “Chat translation language”.
Language list in chat
In the chat menu:
- Item “Site language” — translation follows the current interface language.
- Or one of 11 languages:
| Code | Name |
|---|---|
| ru | Русский |
| en | English |
| es | Español |
| fr | Français |
| ja | 日本語 |
| de | Deutsch |
| ko | 한국어 |
| it | Italiano |
| zh | 中文 |
| pt | Português |
| hi | हिन्दी |
Translation is done by a machine-translation service. If the translation matches the original or is unavailable, the source text is shown.
Where it applies
| Chat | Where | Setting note |
|---|---|---|
| Site / octagon (game room) | Chat panel | User’s shared chat translation setting |
| Tournament chat | Tournament page | Same shared setting |
| Club chat | Club page | Same shared setting |
| Private messages | Messenger | Translation language is set per dialog |
More on chats: Chats.
Automatic content translation
The user enters text once (in any language). On save the platform detects the language and makes a machine translation into the site interface languages (en, ru, es, fr, de, pt). A visitor sees the version for their interface language.
There are no separate “enter text in each language” fields in forms.
Profile
| Field | Behavior |
|---|---|
| “About me” | On save translated to all UI locales; on the profile the variant for the site language is shown |
The user nick is not translated. See Profile.
Clubs
When creating and editing a club, auto-translation applies to:
- name;
- short and public description;
- club rules.
On the club page the text is shown in the visitor’s interface language. See Clubs.
Tournaments
When saving a draft / publishing, auto-translation applies to:
- tournament name;
- tournament description.
On the card and tournament page the variant for the interface language is shown. See Creating a tournament.
Posts and comments in clubs
| Content | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Post title and text | On save — translation to UI locales |
| Comments | On send — translation to UI locales |
The reader sees the post and comments in their interface language.
Club chat meanwhile uses the chat translation language (see above), not the post columns.
What is not translated (or differently)
| Element | Behavior |
|---|---|
| User nick | No translation |
| Avatars, images, banners | No translation of text on the image |
| Chat messages | Live translation by the selected chat language, not “prepared” in 6 languages like posts |
| Legal pages | Translations by locale; only Russian has force, other variants are informational |
| If the translation service is unavailable | Content may remain in the original on all locales; in chat — without translation |
Typical scenarios
A. Change site language
- Open the flag select in the header.
- Choose a language (e.g. Español).
- The interface and translated content (descriptions, posts, “About me”) switch to that language.
B. Read chat in another language
- Open a chat (site, tournament, club, or messenger).
- In the chat header choose “Chat translation language”.
- Pick a language or “Site language”.
C. Write a tournament description once
- Enter the description in your language when creating a tournament.
- Save — the platform prepares translations.
- Players with another interface language see their text version.
FAQ
Where do I change the language — in the profile?
The switcher is in the header.
Do I need to write a club description in all languages manually?
No. One text on save goes through auto-translation.
Why does someone else’s post in “my” language look odd?
It is machine translation. Meaning depends on the service quality.
Will chat language reset if I change the site language?
If “Site language” is selected — yes, chat translation follows the interface. If a specific chat language is selected — it is kept separately (in DMs — for that dialog).
