Tetris: Attack on the iqpi.io platform is Tetris online with attack lines: a game against a live opponent or solo play. You can play for free or rated for money (Buy-in in IQPIC), and join prize tournaments in this discipline.
Created in the same form as Classic: /game/create/tetris → mode “Tetris: Attack”. Regular stacking without attacks — in the Tetris article.
Below — attack types, starting level, how lines work, how the winner is decided, and where to view rating.
The game runs in the personal account (lk).

What this mode is

| Versus | Live opponent or solo play |
| Game type | Unrated or Rated (with Buy-in in IQPIC) |
| Tournaments | Yes — Tetris discipline, Attack mode |
| Skill rating | Tetris: Attack category (tetris_attack), separate from Classic |
In the form /game/create/tetris, field “Game mode”:
- “Tetris: Attack” — this article;
- “Tetris: Classic” → Tetris.
For Attack you also set:

There is no “play vs bot” mode like in chess (Stockfish). There is a solo game (see below).

How to create a game vs a human
- Open
/lk→ Tetris vs human (or/game/create/tetris). - Under “Game mode” select “Tetris: Attack”.
- Set “Starting level” (1–50).
- Choose “Attack type” (see below).
- Game type: unrated or rated + Buy-in.
- Create the game →
/game/tetris/{hash}. - Wait for an opponent or invite via challenge / link.
Before sitting down, the opponent may see the conditions: level and attack type.
Fee details: Rated games.
Solo play
/lk→ solo (or/game/create/tetris?solo=1).- Mode “Tetris: Attack”.
- Attack type — bot attack only (random and targeted are unavailable in solo).
- Create the game and play immediately.
Solo is always unrated. UI hint: “In solo Tetris Attack only bot attack is available.”
This is not a duel against a configurable bot like in chess, but a solo game with automatic attack lines.
Attack types
| Type in UI | Meaning |
|---|---|
| “Random attack” | Attack lines with an arbitrary number of empty cells |
| “Targeted attack” | Empty cells where the opponent placed the last piece |
| “Bot attack” | The system sends attack lines to both players once a minute; players do not send lines to each other with this type |
In a duel with random and targeted attack, you yourself “feed” the opponent with lines by clearing your rows (see below).
How attack lines work
Sending to the opponent (random / targeted)
When clearing lines in a duel:
| Lines cleared at once | Attack lines to the opponent |
|---|---|
| 1 | 0 |
| 2 | 1 |
| 3 | 2 |
| 4 | 3 |
Lines are added at the bottom of the well (the field shifts up), with “holes” (empty cells) per attack-type rules.
Bot attack
Players do not send attacks to each other from their clears. Instead, the platform periodically adds identical (or same-type) attack lines to both.
Burning attack lines
As the score grows, attack lines can be burned: for every +1000 points, one bottom attack line burns (in UI / notifications — burning an attack line).
Level and speed
Current speed depends on starting level and score growth (level grows with score, upper bound around 50). Higher level — faster drop.
Points for clears — as in Classic: 1 line — 100, 2 — 300, 3 — 700, 4 — 1500.
How the winner is determined
As in Tetris (Classic):
| Situation | Result |
|---|---|
| Both finished | Higher score wins; on equality — draw |
| One resigned | Loss for the resigning player |
| Opponent already finished | You can finish your well (“Finished game”), then scores are compared |
Attacks do not change the win criterion (“who drowned first”), but strongly affect who gets game over sooner and how many points they score.
Rated game and Buy-in
- “Rated game” + Buy-in amount in IQPIC.
- Limit — by account level and balance.
- Win / loss / draw — by general rated-game rules.
Skill is written to the Tetris: Attack category, not classic Tetris.
Details: Rated games, Balance management.
During the game
Controls are the same as Classic (keys and on-screen buttons): left/right, soft drop, hard drop, rotates. Details: Tetris.
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Resign | Resign button → confirm |
| Pause | No |
| Chat | In a duel with random / targeted attack — yes; in a duel with bot attack type — no; in solo — yes |
| Spectators | /game/tetris/{hash}/guest |
| Points / level | “My points”, opponent’s points, “Level” |
Rating and account level

|---|---|
| Rated game | A game with IQPIC Buy-in |
| Tetris: Attack skill | Separate score for this discipline |
| Account level | Maximum Buy-in limit |
| Game starting level | Speed setting in a specific room (1–50) |
Do not confuse game starting level and account level. Classic Tetris is a different skill category: Tetris. Profile: Profile.
